2024 Republican presidential hopeful Vivek Ramaswamy is taking a bold stance in his campaign, focusing not only on President Joe Biden but also on what he sees as the deeper issue at play: the managerial class. Here’s the full story.
Speaking at The Gathering, an event organized by radio host Erick Erickson, Ramaswamy shared his perspective on the current state of the country and his vision for change.
Biden Is Not Running the Country
Ramaswamy, the founder of the biotech company Roivant Sciences, made it clear that he believes Biden is not the primary force running the country.
He said, “The deeper problem with Joe Biden is, he’s not really the person running the country. It is the managerial class.”
The Great Reset
Ramaswamy framed his candidacy as a battle between the managerial class and the citizens, highlighting the tension between the so-called “Great Reset” and what he terms the “Great Uprising.”
The “Great Reset,” as proposed by the World Economic Forum, aims to address economic recovery, climate change, and social inequality but has faced criticism for potentially restricting individual freedoms.
Is the Government Telling the Truth?
“That’s why we live in a 1776 moment in America today. Do we trust ourselves as citizens? Do we expect our government to tell us the hard truth instead of serving us a noble lie?” he added.
He outlined his goals as president, which include significantly reducing the administrative state by returning the government to its constitutional structure of three branches, cutting dependency on China for essential needs, and fostering the fastest economic growth among developed nations.
Ramaswamy also addressed the concept of the Left’s “Woke” ideologies.
Ramaswamy’s rise to prominence through his critiques of left-leaning ideologies has led him to warn about the Left’s influence on the younger generation.
Offering a New Ideology
He said, “We can’t just complain about that vision, we have to offer our own, grounded in the individual, family, nation, God.”
Making Faith and Family Cool Again
“To make concepts like faith and family and patriotism and hard work cool again actually. These aren’t antiquated values, this is the stuff of progress,” he added.
Addressing concerns about his age, Ramaswamy drew a parallel to historical figures like Thomas Jefferson, who was younger than him when he wrote the Declaration of Independence.
Can Stand and Watch What’s Happening to the Country
“I don’t believe that it’s my job to wait my turn in some bureaucracy,” he said.
“Twenty years from now, I don’t think I’m going to be as effective at reaching Gen Z. I don’t think we have 20 years left as a country if we just passively stand by and watch,” he concluded.
Twitter Users Expressed Their Views
Several social media users shared their thoughts on the incident.
One Twitter user wrote, “He sounds like he would be a good president, but not for people of color.”
A Revolution Is Needed
Another user added, “I agree. Incremental changes at this point will not solve our problems. The revolution of getting back to the functionality of the Constitution and the removal of the deep state will get us going in the right direction.”
